The Future of Film & TV Promotion: #SMWTV
As part of Social Media Week in Toronto in September 2013, I organized an independent panel discussion & after-party to explore the film and TV industry and how social media can work for those domains.
This panel looked at how traditional models for film and TV are changing and how TV networks and independent producers are experimenting with new avenues to create compelling content for the second screen, leverage their fan bases and generate revenue. We explored a range of approaches to multi-platform production (film, TV, web-TV) and promotion (engaging audiences and measuring the impact of social media). We also talked about the new challenges and opportunities facing the industry, and had a Q&A with the audience. Following the panel, networking and an after-party took place with visuals by Christian Skjødt.
